The festival will feature a selection of international films, including 20 national premieres, four special events and three master classes with Northern Rivers filmmakers.
Italian films in the program include Cocoricò tapes by Francesco Tavella (2023) and Posso entrare? An ode to Naples by Trudie Styler (2023), both premiering in Australia.
Cocoricò tapes tells the story of the famous Cocoricò disco of the 1990s, while Posso entrare? An ode to Naples offers a fascinating portrait of Naples, with contributions from artists like Sting and figures such as Antonio Loffredo and Roberto Saviano.
Since 2020, the collaboration between the Italian Cultural Institute of Sydney and the Bangalow Film Festival has been crucial for bringing Italian culture to remote locations like Bangalow.
Christian Pazzaglia is once again running the festival. Pazzaglia has extensive international experience and has brought to life a variety of cultural events around the world. He has previously served as director of the Bangalow Film Festival and will no doubt make it a smashing return.
