The day also involved exciting stops in Barooga, Shepparton and Tocumwal.

The trip started on Monday morning with a coffee stop on the way to Barooga, allowing the group to rejuvenate with a hearty breakfast that would give them the energy they needed to tackle the stunning but long journey.

Arriving in Barooga, the group of around 30 members and friends of the club were warmly welcomed by the natural beauty of the region.

With the Murray River flowing peacefully by, Barooga provided a relaxing atmosphere and an opportunity to appreciate the rich local history.

Participants had the opportunity to explore a few corners of the town, which were steeped in an aura of tradition and hospitality.

The highlight of the excursion, though, was Shepparton. Here, the ‘tourists for two days’ had the opportunity to visit a fascinating cherry plantation where they learnt about the life cycle of the delicious fruit.

The purchase of fresh cherries made the experience even more tasty and authentic.

The trip ended with a visit to Tocumwal, an interesting little town that everyone enjoyed after a tasty dinner.

This is not the first time the club has organised a trip like this for its members.

The committee works assiduously every year to ensure trips and social activities in various locations. According to the participants, this latest excursion was a hit!

It was an experience that will remain indelibly in the memories of those present, and certainly helped to create even stronger bonds within the group.
