It was the away side who went ahead in the 8th minute when Da Cunha’s off target shot was deflected back to him by the defender. He made no mistake on his second attempt.
Venezia went close to drawing level when Johnsen’s header looped over the keeper and hit the crossbar.
Alberto Cerri went close to doubling Como’s lead, but his header was met with an excellent save from Joronen who dived low and to his left.
Venezia equalised just on the stroke of half time when Candela got on the end of a cross from Carboni and slotted it into the bottom-left corner with his left foot.
Venezia manager Paolo Vanoli was sent off for his aggressive remonstration with the match official.
The home side took the lead just on the other side of half time, Johnsen turned provider by looping a ball cross goal to Milanese who slotted it home back across the keeper.
Venezia managed to get their third thanks to some less than convincing defending by Como.
Defender Filippo Scaglia completely misjudged the bounce of the ball and Venezia punished him through Johnsen running through on goal and cutting back for Pohjanpalo to finish into an empty net.
An onslaught of Venezia attacks were unable to yield a fourth goal.
It was Como who would score next with Gabrielloni’s strong header from a corner too much to handle for Joronen, who got a hand to the ball.
The win takes Venezia out of the relegation play-off zone.
