Cultural Diversity Week

Proudly presented by the Victorian Multicultural Commission, with support from the Victorian Government, Cultural Diversity Week invites all Victorians to embrace each other's cultural heritage and join in the celebrations. In 2017, the theme for the week is 'Our journey, Our stories', and all Victorians are asked to share their own stories of cultural heritage and identity. There are hundreds of events happening across Melbourne and the state, with many ways to join in the celebrations. If you can't find an event to suit you, then you are encouraged to host your own event. The City of Melbourne program highlights the contribution of Melbourne's diverse cultures and includes a Muslim-Jewish Comedy Debate in the Melbourne Town Hall, a Melbourne Conversation about unity and diversity, a Human Library (borrow a person for 15-minutes), and picnics in North Melbourne and Carlton and more. Cultural Diversity Week is a time to come together as a community to celebrate our multicultural journey and share personal stories of our cultural heritage and identity.
