Festa delle Salsicce

Festa della Salsicce celebrates the Italian tradition of salami making. Griffith is well known as the centre of home-made salami's with 60% of people in Griffith claiming Italian heritage and many of these proudly upholding old traditions. In fact the salami-making culture in Griffith is booming with the next generation taking the reigns. The Salami Festival celebrates the home salami makers and attracts people and entries from all across Australia. The competition started among friends many years ago when friendly rivalry decided there should be a winner. Salamis are today judged by an expert panel and an Italian luncheon complete with local wine and live music celebrates the occasion.
