From Vienna to Buenos Aires: Massimo Scattolin and Josephine Vains

A musical cross-cultural friendship spanning the past decade, join Italian virtuoso guitarist Massimo Scattolin and Melbourne cellist Josephine Vains for an intimate program to delight the classical senses. Described as one of the best guitarists of our times, Massimo Scattolin brings a wealth of experience to the stage having performed worldwide as a soloist, including with the Buena Vista Social Club. Intrepid cellist Josephine Vains is well-known to Australian audiences as a chamber musician and educator and together they perform virtuoso works including Piazzolla’s Le Grand Tango and Paganini’s Moses Variations. Schubert’s Arpeggione Sonata balances the program with Viennese good taste. The evening includes a rare treat of original compositions by Massimo in response to the Australian landscape.
