Dr Massimo Scialla (1946) holds a degree in Economics and Commerce from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. Between 1971 and 2005 Dr Scialla worked at the Banca di Roma (the second largest Italian bank), where he held important responsibilities especially in the international sector. Most recently, Dr Scialla was Chief Manager in charge of International Banks Relations (Correspondent Banking), International Credits, International Network, International Business Development between Italian and International Companies and Responsible for the Bank’s projects finalized to opening 12 branches in Europe, Asia and Africa. In Toronto (Candada), Dr Scialla was Founding Member of the Canadian Foreign Bankers Association and Member of the Board of Directors of the Italo-Canadian Chamber of Commerce. In Sydney, Dr Scialla was Founding Member of the Australian Foreign Bankers Association; Member of the Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of the Italo-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Treasurer of Dante Alighieri Society of New South Wales – Sydney. Dr Scialla was also Member of the Board of Directors of the Italian-Arab Chamber of Commerce – Rome. Dr Scialla has been a guest lecturer in International Finance and Economic Development, Monetary Theories and Policies, Italian and European Banking Systems, Wealth Management, Private and Public Investment Abroad, Political and Commercial Risks Management, International Competitiveness of Medium and Small Size Companies, Security and Immigration to Europe, Islamic Banking (Sharia), Central European Bank Policies, International Mergers and Acquisitions, Geopolitical Developments in the Mediterranean Countries, at the Italian Bankers’ Association – Rome; St. John's University – New York; Loyola University – Chicago; Ontario University – Guelph; Monash University – Melbourne; Swinburne University of Technology – Melbourne; Moroccan Ministry of Industries – Casablanca; Regione Lazio – Rome; Italian Industrialists Association (Confindustria) – Rome; Italian Export Insurance Corporation (SACE) – Rome; Italian-Arab Chamber of Commerce – Rome; LUISS University of Rome “Guido Carli”.
