Melbourne have the pleasure of inviting you to LEONARDO DA VINCI: SCIENCE BEFORE SCIENCE, lecture by Professor FIORENZO GALLI, Director General of the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia “Leonardo da Vinci” (Milan). Leonardo da Vinci is a global cultural icon, a symbol of curiosity and interdisciplinary knowledge. Five centuries after his death, his capacity to observe nature and his working methods continue to inspire researchers, scientists and innovators all over the world. Professor Fiorenzo Galli, in an accessible account of the versatility of Leonardo da Vinci’s thought, will bring alive its freshness and illustrate its ongoing importance. Fiorenzo Galli (Milan, 1955) holds a degree in Political Economy and Finance from the University of Milan. With a prestigious track record in both the business and cultural fields, he is Director General of the National Museum of Science and Technology “Leonardo da Vinci” in Milan since 2001, and Professor of Contemporary Museology at the University of Milan since 2007. A member of the Board of Trustees of the Deutsches Museum in Munich, of the Italian National Committee for the 2019 Leonardo da Vinci celebrations and of the National Work Group for Expo Dubai 2020, Professor Galli has authored over a hundred publications on scientific culture, including the award-winning book available in English as ‘Notes on Sustainable Citizenship’.
