Perception Integration

Event by Editorial Team

On the occasion of the ‘Giornata del Contemporane’, as a special “finissage” event to conclude the exhibition ‘The Manifesto of Rural Futurism’, the IIC Melbourne presents Italian artist Chiara Costanza who will perform some new work, fruit of her continuous study and experimentation with live electronic sounds using analogue and digital synthesizers, drum machines, as well as acoustic sounds. Her live performance will fuse ideas taken from her practice as a live electronic artist and as a film composer. Her latest research focuses on our constant interaction with everyday sounds and technology, which will translate in creating an immersive environment which will bring a meditative as well as an unreflective response. Chiara is a music composer and performer based in Melbourne. Classically trained in piano and later exposed to electronic music, Chiara has been an active composer and producer since 2014. Her work ranges across composing music for film and TV, creating electronic music for live performance, composing soundscapes for immersive environments and art installations, and the experimental use of field recordings with analogue and digital synthesis. She recently composed for Cannes Film Festival Palme D’Or Winner short film ‘All These Creatures’, STAN Series ‘The Other Guy’, and for contemporary dance choreographer Prue Lang with Sydney Dance Company.
