October in Rome is known for its sunny days and warm temperatures.

The phrase ottobrata romana was used throughout the 19th century to refer to Sunday trips to the countryside surrounding Rome on those mild autumn days.

Nowadays ottobrata romana is an excuse to enjoy company outdoors, although the association also wished to meet and greet new Italian immigrants, young and old, to share in their experiences and celebrate Italian heritage.

Members and friends took part in the day, enjoying good food, weather and games organised by the committee.

There was a round of cards and the youngest children took part in an egg-and-spoon and sack race.

The event was a great success, thanks to the organisation of the committee who served a delicious lunch enjoyed by all.

Many photos were taken and posted to the Association Noantri Sydney Facebook page.

The next event for the society is the Christmas Party held on December 16 at North Ryde RSL.
