Spina and Benignetti’s partnership as a piano duo began in 2013 and immediately received positive acclaim.

Winners of international music competitions, they obtained the prestigious Diplôme Supérieur d’Exécution at the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris.

They are currently studying under the guidance of professors Igor Roma and Henk Guittart at the Maastricht University of Music.

Their acclaimed recording of Brahms’s complete works for two pianos for Brilliant Classics Records has been praised by audiences and critics alike: the most widely-read music magazines in Italy and France awarded this recording the highest rating.

The new album Lifetime was released in January 2017 for Sheva Collection’s label.

For this recording the duo received the Gold Medal as Best Album and Best Emerging Artists at the 2017 Global Music Awards in California, one of the biggest prizes in discography.

The duo performs regularly throughout Europe.

Highlights from recent seasons include the recital for the live show Génération Jeunes Interprètes at the Auditorium of the Maison de la Radio in Paris, broadcast by the famed France Musique National Radio, a recital for the Jeunes Talents concert series, the debut recital at the Osaka Izumi Hall in Japan and a debut concert tour in South Africa, where they also performed for the Johannesburg International Mozart Festival.

In 2019 they will give recitals in China, France, Italy and The Netherlands.

They have been appointed piano professors in France, at the Cité de la Musique in Soissons and at the Conservatorium of Music in Saint Quentin.

The piano duo Spina - Benignetti has been included among the Official Yamaha Artists.
