Around 70 guests gathered to celebrate the hard work and achievements of the current season, with the men’s Stallions team sitting at the top of the league and the women’s first team proudly in fourth place.
The evening was hosted by ABC journalist Daniel Garb and was attended in full by the Club Marconi executive committee, underscoring the strong bond between club leadership and the football division.
Club President Morris Licata opened the night with a heartfelt speech, expressing pride and gratitude to the sponsors while reaffirming the central role football continues to play in the club’s mission.
Chairman and Vice President Roberto Carniato followed with his own message of thanks, acknowledging key sponsors Brydens Lawyers, Strathbrook Refrigeration, Alerce, Peter Warren Ford and Legea Sportswear, as well as the football admin staff, the committee, CEO Matteo Biviano, Sponsorship Manager Jake Fenech, Il Globo for its regular coverage of the Stallions, Event Manager Diana Gentile and of course the players and coaches for their ongoing dedication. He emphasised the importance of teamwork both on and off the pitch.
The night also featured on-stage interviews with Men’s Head Coach Peter Tsekenis, team captain Mark Jesic, Women’s Head Coach Michael Beauchamp and women’s team captain Daniela Berkic. Their insights highlighted the hard work behind the scenes and their ambitions for the future.
Capping off the evening with laughter and energy was comedian Rob Shehadie, whose signature humour had the audience in stitches and earned him a warm round of applause.
