This is going to be a very different Milan side, with 26 players having left the club so far (nine on loan), and nine coming in.

Milan have received 66.5 million euros, 64 million from Sandro Tonali’s move to Newcastle United alone, with the remaining 2.5 coming from Lecce’s purchase of Lorenzo Colombo.

So far, they have spent a total of 109 million euros, 20 million each for Valencia’s Yunus Musah, Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic and Villareal’s Samuel Chukwueze.

They’ve also bought AZ Alkmaar’s Tijjani Reijnders, Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Salzburg’s Noah Okafor for 19, 16 and 14 million euros respectively.

Milan’s preseason hasn’t been very impressive, with the club losing every game except one, against Serie C team Novara.

Il Globo verdict: AC has had a busy transfer period and have arguably strengthened their squad, despite losing the likes of Tonali and Ibrahimovic. This should see them finish higher than last season.

Prediction: 2nd-3rd in Serie A and quarter finals in the Champions League
