ACT Chief Health Officer Kerryn Coleman said a woman aged in her 80s had caught the illness overseas and died in Canberra Hospital over the weekend.

The ACT has recorded one new case in the last 24 hours, a woman in her 30s, which has been linked to overseas travel.

That brings the number of cases in the territory to 78.

The ACT has announced it will be enforcing the new restrictions as outlined by Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Sunday night.

There are still six patients in the Canberra hospital who have Covid-19.

Two of those people are in the ICU.
