The home side would have been disappointed not to win after creating 17 chances to Sampdoria’s seven.

Cremonese took the lead in the 27th minute when Charles Pickel was in the right place at the right time to receive the ball from Sampdoria goalkeeper Filip Stankovi’s fine save. Pickel reacted quickly and scored.

Sampdoria equalised on the hour mark when young Spanish talent Estanis Pedrola finished off a wonderful backheel from Fabio Borini with a well-hit low shot into the near post.
