The 23-year-old was crowned this year’s winner of the popular program by Mark Bouris, founder of Wizard Home Loans, and will begin working in January as Head of Business Development for finance company Yellow Brick Road.

His new annual salary will be $200,000.

Morello is eager to take on this new challenge and has proved he’s up for the task, having successfully completed the 10 complex projects on The Apprentice.

“I went on the show to put myself to the test and I must say that they were intense weeks both physically and mentally,” he said.

“But the experience gave me great satisfaction, not just because I won, but also because it allowed me to discover my potential and have more confidence in myself.”

The son of Italians, Morello proved to be a talented businessman early on, founding his first business when he was just 14: he organised underage events for his peers.

“We even had a telephone line to assure participants’ parents,” he said.

Morello grew up a hard worker, helping his dad in the workshop at Morello Motors, in Moonee Ponds, and working as an agent at Thomson Real Estate in Flemington.

This is where he learned all the skills and traits which helped him win The Apprentice.

“The hardest challenge was selling artwork that was priced between $20,000 and $25,000,” he recounted.

“It wasn’t easy but we got there in the end!”

Morello’s kind nature, smile, cooperation, respect for others and positive attitude won the hearts of the nation (and the other contestants!) during the show.

These qualities are the secret to his success on the show, which is just the start of many more endeavours.

Best of luck!
