As the first half edged toward its conclusion, Avondale increased the pressure. Okino wasn’t done yet. In the 65th minute, she chased down a ball over the top and was brought down in the box by the Calder goalkeeper for a penalty.
Eager to complete her hat-trick, the Japanese striker confidently stepped up and powered the spot-kick low into the bottom right to make it 3-0.
Avondale rounded out the scoring in the dying minutes. Pressing high, three Avondale players swarmed Calder’s attempt to build from the back.
Saki Nishihara recovered possession and played a clever through ball to Steiner, who drove into the box and delivered a pinpoint cross to the back post. Larissa Walsh perfectly timed her run to calmly slot it home and seal a dominant 4-0 victory.
It was a statement win for the Avondale women, who continue their strong form in the 2025 campaign.
