In attendance at the simple but significant ceremony were: Reverend Monsignor L. P. Moran, chancellor of the archdiocese; the mayor of Fitzroy, J.J. James; Father Martellozzo; Reverend P. Giorgio Baggio; B.A. Santamaria, president of the National Civic Council; and a large audience of members of the community.

After mass was celebrated in Italian by the Archbishop at the All Saints Parish in Fitzroy, the procession of authorities and around 500 people moved to the new school, adjacent to the church.

Archbishop Tweedy then proceeded to cut the ribbon and bless the premises.

Guests then visited the six spacious classrooms, which can hold up to 200 students.

The rooms are abundant with natural light from large windows.

The value and importance of the school were highlighted by the numerous speakers who took turns at the microphone.
