The man was aged in his 70s and had been a passenger on the Artania cruise ship.
He was one of the original cases taken off the ship last month but lost his fight at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital on Thursday.
The death came as two new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the state overnight.
One case was linked to overseas travel while the second is still being investigated.
The state now has 76 active cases and 464 recoveries.
Minister for Health Roger Cook said the death of the passenger was a reminder of just how deadly the disease could be.
“We cannot be complacent,” he said.
“We must maintain our vigilance at all times.”
Eighty-one of Western Australia’s coronavirus cases have been linked to the Artania and four deaths including two other male passengers and a 42-year-old Filipino crew member, who is the youngest person to have died from the virus in Australia.
The Artania is slowly making its way home to Germany with stops in Indonesia and the Philippines to drop off some of its 403 crew members still on board.
The ship is currently closing in on Jakarta and is due to dock in Manila later this month before travelling to Bremerhaven with about 75 remaining passengers and crew with an arrival date of May 31.
