Atalanta took the lead in the 23rd minute when Gialnuca Scamacca launched an absolute rocket from around 30 yards out.
Marcus Edwards brought the visitors back level in the 56th minute when he played a one-two with Viktor Gyokeres before running in on goal and shooting low past Atalanta keeper Juan Musso.
