Berat Djimsiti gave Atalanta the lead in the 19th minute when he headed in a cross by Nicola Zalewski.
In the 36th minute, things went from bad to worse for Genoa when Seydou Fini was shown a straight red card for a last man tackle on Raoul Bellanova.
In the 53rd minute, Marten de Roon doubled Atalanta’s advantage with a volley into the top corner before Mario Pašalić made it 3-0 with a tap in at the back post.

Honest Ahanor completed the route in the 91st minute with a header from a Lazar Samardžić corner that Benjamin Siegrist got a heavy hand on but ultimately was unable to keep out.
Atalanta will next face Luciano Spalletti’s Juventus at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.
