Napoli went ahead early, but Atalanta’s tactical response after the break swung the tie in their favour and left the visitors to rue missed chances and late pressure.

Napoli began on the front foot and struck first. From a well-worked free-kick, Sam Beukema rose highest inside the box in the opening stages to head Napoli into the lead.

Despite going behind, Atalanta responded with intensity, probing Napoli’s back line and gradually wresting control of the midfield battle as the first half progressed.

The pitch-side momentum shifted decisively after the break. In the 61st minute, midfielder Mario Pašalić brought Atalanta level by flicking a header into the far post from a corner, renewing belief among the home fans.

The equaliser energised the hosts, who kept up the pressure and looked more threatening with every attacking transition.

Atalanta completed the comeback in the 81st minute when Lazar Samardžić rose to meet a pinpoint cross from winger Lorenzo Bernasconi and powered a composed header beyond Napoli goalkeeper Vanja Milinković-Savić.

Napoli pushed men forward in the closing stages, introducing fresh attacking options and cranking up the intensity, but Atalanta’s organised defence stood firm and protected their advantage until the final whistle.

The win boosts Atalanta’s confidence and points tally in a congested pack striving for European qualification, while Napoli must quickly regroup after a third successive setback domestically following their 2–2 draw with Roma and Coppa Italia penalty loss to Como.
