Along with the Croatian coach, whose back-to-back defeats in the league at Udinese and Sassuolo, go his entire staff.

“Atalanta BC announces that Ivan Jurić has been relieved of his duties as coach of the first team together with his closest collaborators: Matteo Paro, Miguel Veloso, Paolo Barbero, Stjepan Ostojić and Michele Orecchio,” the club said.

“Atalanta BC thanks Ivan Jurić and his staff for their efforts, wishing them all the best for the future.”

Jurić was appointed in June 2025, following the departure of long-time coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who went to Roma.

His career has seen a number of abrupt endings: he left Roma after only two months in late 2024, then joined Southampton where the club was relegated in April 2025.

Atalanta’s decision to part ways with the manager so early signals clear dissatisfaction with the team’s direction. The club had enjoyed a strong period under Gasperini, including a historic Europa League triumph in 2024, and the expectations for Jurić were correspondingly high.

Speculation is already growing regarding Jurić’s replacement. According to reports, former AC Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino is among the names being considered.

Whoever it is, the incoming coach will inherit a squad that is under-performing in the league and facing the pressures of Champions League competition—a combination that demands both tactical adjustment and strong leadership.
