So far this offseason, the club have received a whopping 145.9 million euros, 75 of which came from the sale of Rasmus Højlund to Manchester United.

It’s fair to say the club hasn’t reinvested all that money into new players, having only spent 63.5 million euros so far.

In addition to Højlund, they also sold Jérémie Boga to Nice for 18 million euros.

Atalanta have brought in striker El Bilal Touré from Almeria for 28 million euros, which seems to be a hefty price for a player that only scored seven goals last season, albeit with a relegation-threatened club.

They’ve also bought Gianluca Scamacca from West Ham for 25 million, despite him having only scored three goals and being injured for a large portion of last season.

Il Globo verdict: Despite receiving a ton of cash this offseason, Atalanta have been miserly with the overall amount they’re willing to spend. When they have spent money, however, they seem to be paying premium for players who are not guaranteed to be a success.

Prediction: 6th-10th in Serie A and limited success in the Europa League.
