Avondale taste defeat for the first time this season

Newly promoted Manningham United jumped Avondale FC in the 12th minute and kept attacking, scoring again in the 38th to make it 2-0 going into half time.

Avondale were hoping for a comeback in the second half, however the onslaught from the home team continued with Manningham scoring again in the 85th minute to make it 3-0, which would be the final score.

The loss leaves Avondale outright second on the table as Manningham United move out of the relegation zone into 11th.

The Avengers will play Heidelberg United, who are currently fourth on the ladder, this coming Saturday at Hume City’s home ground starting at 7 p.m.
