Robert was more than a leader - he was the heart and soul of Avondale FC, a true pioneer of the club’s family-oriented culture. His legacy will live on in every moment we share on and off the pitch.

With heavy hearts but unwavering determination, our women stepped onto Avenger Park driven to honour Robert in the best way possible - by playing the attacking, relentless football he loved.

They did not disappoint, delivering a dominant 12-0 victory over Southern United, securing their third consecutive win of the season.

Southern United, who had started their 2025 campaign strongly with a draw and a win, were simply no match for Avondale’s free-flowing attack.

Addison Steiner continued her sensational form, completing her second hat-trick in as many weeks within the opening 15 minutes thanks to an incredible display of clinical finishing.

Kurea Okino netted her first hat-trick for the Avengers before adding a fourth goal with virtually the last kick of the game.

Simone Kenny opened her account for the season in style, scoring her first goal for the club before doubling her tally in the second half.

Saki Nishihara capped off an incredible team move with a thunderous long-range strike, rifling the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

It was a performance worthy of Robert’s memory; dominant, passionate and full of the spirit he instilled in this club.

Rest in peace, Robert. This one was for you.
