The Senior men travelled to Green Gully needing a win to keep the pressure on South Melbourne at the top.
The Avengers got away to a hot start, scoring in the second minute through Trajceski who added a second in the 45th as the away team went into the rooms 2-0 up at half time.
Green Gully scored in the 62nd minute via a deflection to make it 2-1, however that goal triggered Avondale who responded with a scoring spree.
Ott scored in the 65th minute before Zinni scored a minute later.
Kur Kur scored a penalty in the 75th minute before Diaz, returning from injury, scored in the 90th minute to complete the 6-1 win.
The Avondale FC senior men host league leaders South Melbourne on August 10.
