Benevento starting XI (3-4-2-1): Paleari (GK), Tosca, Veseli, Letizia, Foulon, Acampora, Viviani, Improta, Tello, Carfora, Pettinari.
The away side managed only one shot on target for the entire game, as well as only 33 per cent possession.
With the match still even, Acampora got himself sent off for a second bookable offence in the 39th minute. Both fouls were for unnecessarily making contact with his opponent.
The two teams went into the break at 0-0.
Just after the break, Benevento gave away a penalty after Foulon missed the ball and stepped on his opponent’s foot.
Paleari picked the right way and even got a hand on the ball, but it wasn’t enough to keep it out.
Things went from bad to worse for the away team when Mattia Viviani was given two yellow cards in five minutes, the second coming in the 69th.
Bari scored from the resulting free kick, with Folorunsho’s shot hitting the wall and deflecting in past Paleari.
Benevento are now firmly in the relegation zone and will need a run of good results to get out.
