The journey has been a fast-paced and exciting one for the 28-year-old architect who only began singing over the past couple of years.
“I studied architecture and I worked as an architect for five years and singing was a hobby but this hobby became a passion that I just loved so much," Arcuri said.
"I put videos on YouTube and Instagram every week and gradually I just kept generating all this support locally and even internationally, and I just thought I might as well try and pursue this".
Fast forward a few months and the talented singer has won the hearts of a nation, released an album and announced several tour dates.
All of the songs on Zenith are covers of personal favourites which reserve a special place in Alfie’s heart.
“I feel these songs in my own personal way and I think when people listen to the album they get my own version of the song due to the way I sing and the way I connect to the music,” Alfie said.
One day Arcuri hopes to produce his own content, providing his audience with a “raw” and genuine expression of the moments that make up his life.
Growing up in an Italian family and still living in the same street as many of his aunties, uncles and cousins, Alfie’s world is defined by strong familial and cultural values.
“I remember from a young age we’d go to nonna’s and make the salami in June and then in the summer we’d make the sauce and these are lasting traditions that have gone on since we were kids," the singer said.
“You probably get used to it and take it for granted as the years go on but these rituals have lasted our whole lives".
While Alfie is slowly processing his victory on The Voice Australia 2016, it may take a little longer for his number one fans: his grandparents.
The star shocked his beloved nonni with his secret talent by singing at his sister’s wedding in 2014.
“They had no idea that I sang…they had never seen me sing in my entire life,” Alfie explained.
Though Alfie’s pursuit of a singing career came as a huge surprise to his proud grandparents, they have been behind him from the get-go.
“When all of the judges turned around in my blind audition my nonno thought I had won! He didn’t realise that there was a whole three months after that," Alfie laughed.
“He had memorised my voting number and there’s a photo of him in the audience ringing up and voting for me in the finale".
Chatting to Arcuri, you wouldn’t think you were speaking with one of Australia’s latest household names.
It’s no surprise that our nation’s newest voice is as humble as they come, and Alfie attributes many of his personal traits to none other than his grandparents.
“They’re just very humble people and they don’t take anything for granted,” Alfie said.
“Every day we live by the things that we’ve learnt from our grandparents and then our parents.”
Perhaps it’s these strong values that have been passed down the family tree and instilled in Alfie from a young age, that have gained the loveable singer an army of loyal supporters as he embarks on the next chapter of his life.
