Fossati was representing Berlusconi’s two older children from his first marriage, Marina and Pier Silvio, while Rimini was representing the three children from his second marriage, Barbara, Eleonora and Luigi, the sources said.
Among other things, the will is set to outline how Berlusconi wanted his 61 per cent stake in the Fininvest family holding company to be split between his children.
It is possible that Berlusconi’s heirs followed the opening of the will via video link while their legal representatives were physically present.
Berlusconi was estimated to have had a net worth of over six billion euros at the time of his death last month.
Meanwhile, Pier Silvio Berlusconi said Wednesday that he does not intend to go into politics and try to fill the gap left by the death of his father.
“I have no intention of going into politics,” Mediaset CEO Berlusconi said.
“Politics is a serious job, and you don’t learn it from one day to the next.”
He then added, however, that “something moved at the emotional level” when the media billionaire and Forza Italia leader died.
“I thought about his relationship with the Italian people and with Italy, made of love and of liberty,” he said.
“It’s a legacy that must live on.
“Besides, I am 54. My father was 58 when he went into politics.”
When asked who could replace his father, he replied, “no one, ever”.
“The more the days pass, the more enormous is the amount I miss him.”
