A 23-year-old man from Andria in Puglia was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of posing as a priest and defrauding at least seven real priests.

The alleged fraud occurred in Puglia, Abruzzo and Basilicata.
The young man would allegedly get the priests to give him money for fake charitable causes.
He was already facing prison time for similar alleged crimes, police said.
The man was caught after a priest in Canosa di Puglia reported him for bilking him out of money he had claimed he would give to a single mother.
