Oussama El Azzouzi opened the scoring for Bologna in the 14th minute with an acrobatic overhead kick to finish off a cross from Riccardo Calafiori.

Joshua Zirkzee made it 2-0 just before half time when he skipped past Gianluca Mancini in the box and finished past Mile Svilar, who despite getting a heavy hand to the ball was unable to stop it from crossing the line.

Sardar Azmoun got one back for Roma ten minutes after the break on his third attempt after Lukasz Skorupski parried his first two efforts straight back to him.

Alexis Saelemaekers restored Bologna’s two-goal buffer in the 65th minute with a clever chip over the oncoming Svilar.

With five games remaining, Bologna are on the verge of Champions League football for next season.
