The visitors had the lion’s share of possession, with 57 per cent, and created eight scoring opportunities to Cosenza’s nine.
Brescia had a nervy moment early on when goalkeeper Lorenzo Andrenacci was closed down by Marco Nasti who blocked his clearance.
It could have been costly for Brescia but only resulted in a goal kick.
Both sides had decent opportunities in the first half, but they were either off target or straight at the keeper.
Brescia went close after half time, but Dimitri Bisoli’s header hit the crossbar.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 70th minute, when Andrenacci made a diving save but was unable to palm the ball out of danger.
With a diving header Nasti managed to get the ball just over the line off the post, with Andrenacci recovering too late.
