Despite only 34 per cent possession, Sudtirol managed to create seven chances to Ascoli’s ten.
It was Ascoli who went ahead just before the break, with Pedro Mendes finding the bottom-left corner from outside the box.
Eight minutes after halftime saw Sudtirol equalise through Silvio Merkaj, who slid into the six-yard box to meet a cross by Casiraghi.
Casiraghi turned scorer in the 64th minute when his goal-bound cross evaded everyone, finding the back of the net.
Seven minutes from full time saw Sudtirol make it 3-1 thanks to a penalty awarded for a trip on Merkaj.
Casiraghi stepped up to the spot and made no mistake.
Ascoli have now lost three out of their opening four games.
