The Christmas lunch proved a great success, enhanced by a raffle featuring prizes generously donated by the community, in particular by Piedimonte’s IGA.
Carefully set tables decorated with a Christmas theme welcomed guests, who were warmly greeted by one of the organisers, Libby D’Alessandro.
She thanked everyone for the strong turnout, noting that “it’s an event that’s always very popular and requires care and attention”.
Among those attending were two South American friends, Argentine Rosa Redon and Uruguayan Mercedes Comiglio, who were delighted by the convivial atmosphere.
“We love Italian culture and food,” they said. Also present were Salvina Pisano and Loredana Petroccolo, who reflected on the deeper meaning of the occasion: “We hope this Christmas brings peace to the world.”
The menu featured traditional dishes and classic desserts, including cassata, panettone and cake, all freshly prepared.
A special moment was dedicated to Giulia Nicolini, Elvira Di Lisio and Virginia Capotosto, all over ninety years of age, who were presented with a greeting card, along with Libby’s mother Mafalda Salvatore, 93, who is looking forward to a particularly special Christmas with the return of her grandson Davide from China.
