On Thursday, Influencer and model Chiara Ferragni announced that she will donate her fee for co-presenting the upcoming Sanremo Song Festival to Italy's top gender violence charity.

The 35-year-old from Cremona, who is also a blogger, fashion designer and forms one half of a power couple with rapper husband Fedez, said she will donate the money she earns to the national anti-violence network D.I.R.E.Lo (SAYit).

The online business mogul announced her decision at a press conference at Milan's Palazzo Parigi, wearing a t-shirt saying, in English, ‘Girls Supporting Girls.’

"Physical violence is easier to recognize, but for me it is very important to speak about psychological violence, of which I myself have been a victim," she said.

"There are attitudes we must not tolerate, which must be recognized as 'I don't deserve this'," she said, saying she would speak out against gender violence and its subtler forms at the much-watched festival from February 7 to 11.

"It is difficult to emerge from these situations if we normalize them," she added.

"I agreed to be co-host (with organizer Amadeus) because I want to raise awareness with the Italian public on these issues".
