The lunch not only provides a moment of togetherness but also honours the essential role that grandparents play in families.
Grandparents are keepers of stories, traditions and wisdom, often providing crucial support to parents.
Their presence enriches the lives of their grandchildren, to whom they pass down values and lessons that last a lifetime.
In an ever-changing world, their contributions remain a pillar of stability and love.
Furthermore, events like this help to strengthen family ties, creating cherished memories and shared joy.
The importance of grandparents was evident with over 150 attendees gathering in the Michelini Room at Club Marconi for the luncheon organised by the club’s women’s committee.
To welcome everyone, committee president Giovanna Pellegrino announced the day’s honorary nonna and nonno, Barbara Barbaro and Domenico Carboni, who were each presented with a commemorative plaque and a few gifts.
Pellegrino then invited Club Marconi’s president, Morris Licata, to speak and officially conclude the formalities before everyone relaxed and enjoyed the afternoon dancing to the tunes of the talented Liz Testa and George Vumbacca.
President Licata thanked the women’s committee for organising such a significant event, commended the vital role of grandparents within the family and assured that the club would continue to support this cherished event.
Alongside president Licata, vice-presidents Sam Noiosi and Roberto Carniato, and directors Sam Vaccaro, Antonio Paragalli, Angelo Ruisi and Dino Zonta, were also present.
Following a delightful lunch, the traditional raffle draw brought smiles to the lucky winners and, as the event came to a close, the dance floor remained full with those revelling in the celebration.
