The outing will see buses depart from the Club Marconi car park in Bossley Park and Carnes Hill Shopping Centre at 9:00 am, with the buses expected to return by 5:30 pm.
Event coordinator, Maria Grazia Storniolo, said that the scampagnata (day trip to the countryside) is one of four or five organised each year.
In August, CNA and attendees took a delightful trip to Oberon, in the central tablelands region of NSW, while September’s trip to Wiseman’s Ferry will see the seniors enjoy the gorgeous nature of the Hawkesbury River region.
Storniolo said that the chosen locales are “lookouts or touristic places that allow us to appreciate the beauty of Australia.”
During the next trip, the group will visit the lookouts, The Convict Trail and finish up with a delicious lunch at Wiseman’s Ferry Bowling Club.
Besides taking seniors on gorgeous daytrips, CNA Italian Australian Services also hosts the weekly ‘Senior Life, Better Life’ program, which provides the senior community living in the Liverpool area with a holistic centre-based day care program of activities for a socially and culturally healthy ageing approach, at the new Carnes Hill Community & Recreation Precinct.
Meetings take place every Wednesday and include morning tea, lunch and activities such as bingo.
Storniolo said that the seniors particularly look forward to the outings “in contact with nature”, with usually 40 to 50 people “eagerly awaiting” the events.
The cost of the event is $50, which covers the bus trip and lunch at Wiseman’s Ferry Bowling Club.
