The chosen theme for 2022 is ‘Celebrating Women, the Heart in our Community’.

The event will celebrate Italian women who, since the beginning of the first migration wave to Australia, have been the pillars of the Italian community, keeping families together, strengthening social networks, and working hard in silence.

CO.AS.IT. in Brisbane was eager to collaborate with Churchill, who is a leading stylist and fashion event producer, to bring the celebrations to life.

Brisbane Fashion Month is renowned for its support of local designers and artisans, as it brings Queensland’s fashion scene to the fore.

As the initiative’s director, Churchill oversees the month-long series of runway, networking and public events each October, as well as the Ekka Natural Fibres Fashion Parades.

Emceed by Kim Skubris, the event for International Women’s Day will include a classic high tea with prosecco in the opulent Rose Room at Cloudland, in Fortitude Valley.

The celebrations aim to not only pay homage to generations of Italian and Italo-Australian women but also raise funds for the CO.AS.IT. Mind Wellness Program, a fully-funded counselling and support service for carers and those living with dementia.
