During the meeting, various socio-cultural topics relative to the Italian community were discussed, which touched on all the lives of Italian expatriates in Australia, as well as other important topics such as Made in Italy.

Comites NSW President Maurizio Aloisi highlighted the intention to increase collaboration between all facets of the Italian community.

Comites NSW is currently actively concentrated on themes of youth immigration and the many implications and disadvantages which arise surrounding this, such as the insertion and integration of new citizens in the greater community, as well as Italian family-child relationships, a topic which is being addressed in a new project.

The project is the just-initiated Italian Playgroup for children aged 0 - 3 years in the Inner West zone.

Comites NSW treasurer Maria Grazia Storniolo explained to La Fiamma that the playgroup is the brainchild of Silvia Pianelli, and seeks to maintain and strengthen a sense of Italian community and language among young families.

The Italian Playgroup will be held at Ashfield Civic Centre on Saturdays at 10am, and has been made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Italy.

Aloisi explained other current projects of Comites NSW to journalist Bocco, including the recent visits to farms around the state, to check on the working conditions of young Italians completing their 88 days on the farm.

A report is currently being made regarding pay, conditions and possible ways to protect young Italian migrants from exploitation.

President Aloisi then presented to Bocco the initiatives which look to the safeguard and diffusion of Made in Italy culture in NSW.

Maria Grazia Storniolo also spoke at the meeting, meticulously illustrating the management and administrative operations of the authority.

The meeting, in the spirit of friendship and hard work, concluded with refreshments and happiness.
