Roma began the match with energy and took the lead in the 7th minute when Donyell Malen continued his fine scoring form, converting a penalty awarded for a trip in the box.

After trailing 1-0 at the break, Como equalised in the 59th minute through Anastasios Douvikas, whose shot from a tight angle went through the legs of Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar.

Things went from bad to worse for Roma when Wesley Franca was shown a second yellow card in the 64th minute for bringing an opponent down while they were breaking forward.

Diego Carlos gave the home side the lead in the 79th minute with a shot from close range after Svilar parried an earlier shot directly to him.
