The Rossoneri were made to work for the win after conceding early, but goals from Christopher Nkunku and a brace from Adrien Rabiot secured a deserved victory.

Como started the brighter of the two sides and stunned the visitors in the 10th minute. From a corner, defender Marc-Oliver Kempf rose highest to head home and give the hosts a dream start, sending the home crowd into raptures.

Milan, caught cold, were forced to regroup as Como maintained momentum and pressured the Rossoneri defence in the opening stages.

Intervention came just before half-time. Milan were awarded a penalty after Kempf was judged to have charged Rabiot inside the box, and Christopher Nkunku stepped up to convert calmly from the spot, restoring parity and giving his side a foothold in the contest heading into the break.

The second half belonged to Milan. With renewed intent, the visitors grew into the game and began to exert pressure on Como’s back line. In the 55th minute, Rabiot chested down a clever chipped through ball by Rafael Leao and put Milan ahead for the first time with a quality finish into the far post from a tightish angle.

His impact on the game was clear, and he added a second goal in the 88th minute with a powerful, low strike from distance that rippled into the bottom corner to seal the win and cap off a standout personal performance.

Milan keeper Mike Maignan also played a key role, making several important saves to keep Como at bay, particularly in the period after the break when the hosts pressed for an equaliser.

The win keeps AC Milan firmly in the Serie A title race, sitting second in the table and narrowing the gap to leaders Inter Milan, while Como remain competitive in the top six but will rue the opportunity to take something from a promising start.
