It was the visitors who went ahead in the 32nd minute thanks to a trailing leg that caught Cesar Falletti which resulted in a penalty.
Andrea Favilli sent the keeper the wrong way from the spot.
Luca Vignali equalised for the hosts in the 62nd minute when a cross into the box wasn’t cleared by Ternana, allowing him to run in and score from a slight angle.
Ternana’s Davide Agazzi was shown a second yellow for leaving a trailing leg to trip his opponent in the 68th minute.
Lucas Da Cunha scored from the free kick that resulted, with the ball taking a wicked deflection off the wall and leaving Antony Iannarilli wrongfooted.
Moutir Chajia made it 3-1 in the 77th minute when Marco Capuano’s botched defensive header went backwards and put him through on goal.
The Belgian was quick to react and ran in on goal before sending the ball over Iannarilly who instead went low.
Como are now two points outside the playoff zone, they need to win their last match and hope that other results go their way.
