Once again, the tournament attracted strong participation, confirming the prestige it has achieved thanks to the support of sponsors, volunteers and long-established clubs.

A key role was played by Co.As.It. Melbourne, the event’s main sponsor. Its ongoing support, warmly acknowledged by the organisers, allows the tournament to maintain high standards and enjoy growing visibility within the community.

Among the most appreciated innovations of this year’s edition was the Veneto Club’s introduction of a live stream of the draw for the first time in Victoria—and possibly in Australia.

The initiative allowed enthusiasts to follow the composition of the pools in real time, with the criteria clearly explained to ensure maximum transparency.

Overseeing the procedure was John Inglese, who on the Saturday also served as tournament director. The following day the role was taken over by Rick, who also acted as MC, supported by the invaluable assistance of volunteer Renata.

On the technical side, match scheduling was handled with the usual precision by Don Di Federico, while the participating clubs shared responsibilities and officiating duties in a cooperative spirit.

Particularly noteworthy was the decision by the women players to compete on the long court, reaffirming the principle of equality in the game.

The appointed referees—Fiorendino, Angelo, Sasha and Orazio—ensured fairness and smooth proceedings over the two days of competition.

The playing fields, presented in impeccable condition, were the result of the hard work of Andrew Peruffo, Dino, Angelo, Tony and the young Zoe, who enthusiastically joined the technical team.

The competition delivered high-quality matches in both the Men’s and Women’s Leagues.

In the Men’s League, victory went to Tony Palermo and Dino Mikolich (Club Italia Sporting Club), followed by Andrew Pozzer and Don Di Federico (Casa D’Abruzzo) in second place, and joint bronze medals for Sasha and Ray (Freccia Azzurra) and Jim Coviello and Aldo Mainelli (Casa D’Abruzzo).

In the Women’s League, gold went to the home team, Eleonora Porta and Sonya Velo from the Veneto Club, silver to Linda Venditti and Carmela Ianetta (Freccia Azzurra), while bronze was shared by Connie Dentesano and Maria Carapellotti (Veneto Club) and Giana Pellegrini and Caterina Manca (Casa D’Abruzzo).

The medals were presented by two long-time supporters of bocce in Victoria, Lina and Ray Cher, symbols of a passion that continues to unite the community.
