McGregor, 33, is in Italy with his family for the baptism of his youngest child, Rian, at the Vatican, as well as collecting his new luxurious €3 million superyacht.
However, Italian DJ Francesco Facchinetti took to Instagram on Sunday to make a number of claims against the two-weight UFC champion.
He alleged that he and his wife had been “having fun” with McGregor when the Irish MMA artist suddenly punched him in the face for no reason.
“At the moment I find myself at Parco dei Principi hotel in Rome; I’m not sure when I’ll post this video but at 2:30 am this morning I was attacked by Mr Conor McGregor,” he told his is one million Instagram followers.
“Yes, the famous Conor McGregor threw a punch to my mouth that busted my top and bottom lip.
“He broke my nose; there was blood but I’ve now cleaned myself up.
“He attacked me outside The St. Regis in front of 10 witnesses, his friends and his bodyguard.
“He attacked me for no reason seeing as we’d spoken for more than two hours and had a good time together.”
The DJ, 41, added that the incident “could’ve been much worse” as he described McGregor as “violent and dangerous”.
“Luckily I’m ok but that person is truly a violent and dangerous man,” he said.
“I took a punch for nothing; this punch could have landed on my wife who was there with me, my female friends who were with me or my other male friends; I’m telling you this could’ve been much much worse.”
Facchinetti said he had taken legal action and his lawyer was seeking CCTV footage from the hotel as evidence of the incident.
“We welcomed him as a hero, but he’s just a bully,” the DJ said.
“I hope he pays, given that it isn’t the first time.”
The St. Regis said it was willing to assist in the matter.
“We’re available to the competent authorities to assist during the investigation,” the hotel told Italian daily La Repubblica.
“The safety of all our guests and employees is of the utmost importance to us.”
McGregor is yet to comment on the allegations, according the La Repubblica.
