Conte stays put, Allegri returns to Milan

Antonio Conte will continue as Napoli’s coach next season after leading them to the Serie A title in his first campaign in charge, Chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has said.

“Forward everyone, stronger than before,” De Laurentiis said via X late on Thursday, dispelling talk of Conte leaving the Naples side to join his former club Juventus.

The post featured a photo of Conte and De Laurentiis together on an open-top bus during Napoli’s scudetto celebration parade in the southern city’s seafront.

Meanwhile, Massimiliano Allegri is back in charge of AC Milan after 11 years, the seven-time European champions said on Friday.

New sporting director Igli Tare identified the 57-year-old Tuscan as the coach to revive Milan’s fortunes after a disappointing season, first under Paulo Fonseca and then with Sérgio Conceição on the bench.

The club announced they had parted company with Conceição on Thursday.

Allegri won the 2010-11 Serie A title with Milan during a four-year stint in charge.

He then won five league titles and five Italian Cups and reached two Champions League finals during two spells with Juventus.
