The newly promoted side opened the scoring in the first half, as Filippo Terracciano headed home from a corner in the 37th minute before Franco Vázquez doubled the lead just two minutes later with a tap in after some impressive footwork by Antonio Sanabria created the opportunity, sending the home fans into delirium before the interval.

Sassuolo emerged after halftime with renewed urgency. Andrea Pinamonti pulled one back in the 63rd minute with a composed shot on the turn, setting the stage for a nervy finish. Domenico Berardi then converted from the spot in the 73rd minute, drawing the visitors level and tilting the momentum in their favour.

But Cremonese’s resilience shone through in stoppage time. A penalty awarded deep into added time presented Manuel De Luca with an opportunity, and he calmly dispatched it to secure a thrilling 3‑2 victory.

The result marked the first time a newly promoted side had won their opening two matches in Serie A since Sampdoria in 2012, following their earlier triumph over AC Milan. With six points from two matches, Cremonese now sit among the early pacesetters in the league.
