De Bruyne operation on hamstring tear went well - Napoli

Napoli said Wednesday that Kevin De Bruyne has had a successful operation on a serious hamstring injury he suffered in the Serie A champions 3-1 win over Inter on Saturday.

De Bruyne pulled up after converting the penalty that put Napoli on the way to victory.

“As planned, Kevin De Bruyne underwent surgery on Wednesday in Antwerp, following a high-grade tear of the biceps femoris in the right thigh,” Napoli said.

“The operation went well.

“De Bruyne, who was assisted during the operation by the head of Napoli’s medical staff, Dr. Raffaele Canonico, will now begin the first post-surgery phase of rehabilitation in Belgium.”

Napoli have said De Bruyne is likely to be on the sidelines for three or four months.
