Inter dominated possession with a whopping 70 per cent and created eight chances to the Czech club’s five.
The game’s loan goal came early when Lautaro Martinez scored from an almost impossible angle in the 12th minute.
Alessandro Bastoni’s cross to the far post was met with a first-time volley by Martinez, who was barely a metre in from the byline. His volley went straight into the ground and then bounced in off the crossbar.
Inter thought they had doubled their lead on the hour mark, but Denzel Dumfies’ goal was ruled out by VAR for an offside against Federico Dimarco.
In the end the one goal was enough for the nerazzurri, with a point at home to Monaco in the last game of the round enough to see them avoid the playoffs.
Monaco, 10th on the table, are coming off a narrow win over Premier League outfit Aston Villa and will be looking to sneak into the top eight.
