The group received an unexpected but much appreciated visit from the Hon. Nicola Carè, Member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies elected in the overseas constituency covering Africa, Asia, Oceania and Antarctica.
Carè was warmly welcomed and quickly joined the relaxed atmosphere that has long defined the group’s weekly lunch. During the meal he also enjoyed the club’s cuisine, happily sampling one of its pizzas.
In an informal but engaging conversation, the parliamentarian shared reflections on the current international situation, discussing geopolitical developments and the global tensions linked to the conflict involving Israel, the United States and Iran.
The visit became an appreciated opportunity for discussion and exchange among those present.
For Carè, it was also a chance to reconnect with long-standing friends from the Italian-Australian community and to meet newer members of the club who take part in the Friday tradition of the “Dolce Vita” table—a symbol of friendship, conviviality and genuine Italian spirit.
